9 Easy Ways to Increase the Curb Appeal of Your Home

Spring is the perfect time to refresh your home's curb appeal. First impressions are HUGE when you are looking to sell your home and as the potential Buyer's pull up to the home you want to MAKE the best impression.

Check out these simple and affordable ways you can increase the curb appeal of your home.

1) Paint! 

A fresh coat of paint is the fastest was to brighten the exterior of your home. If you have siding replace if it's worn or dull. If your home has wood siding consider having a WDO inspection to check for wood rot. 

2) Replace Old Hardware

The door handle will most likely be the first thing the prospective Buyer touches on the home. Consider swapping it out or at the least make sure it's secure and working properly. While your there check out the door bell.  These small things can make a huge difference.

3) Make over your Mailbox

This might slip your mind, but updating the mailbox can make a big difference.  This is an opportunity to accent your home as well as complement and can also reflect your personal style. If bushes have overtaken trim and arrange foliage accordingly. images from

4) Create Visual Interest with the Front Door 

The front entry is the focal point of your home, so create a statement with your front door by painting it a fun color, installing a custom door, or dressing it up with wreath that reflects your personal style.

5) Landscaping 

Pull weeds, prune trees, plant flowers to add a pop of color and lay down new mulch or pine straw. If you have some dead grass replace it with new sod and make sure you regularly maintain your yard as it will grow wild in our warm, sunny and wet Florida climate.

6) Use Pots or Planters

Whether it's on your front porch, down the driveway or by the windows, planters look excellent in the yard and go a long way toward getting you that curb appeal you crave. You can choose large or small planters depending on the size of the area you are working with, then place shrubs, plants, or flowers in them in a uniform or random fashion. This is one of the least expensive ways to brighten up any yard.
